Niche Marketing At Its Best, Over $100,000.00 worth of tools and software, Its your Own Crystal Ball Into the Future of Online Money.

Making Money online is one of those Really difficult things to actually achieve, Well that’s how I found it any way. I really struggled with targeting the right money searches, let alone trying to find niches to work in. Prepare to open your mind, you can make a lot of money just selling How to Draw A Car E-book, no kidding!

PROVEN Affiliate Formulas Ive Used To Generate Extra Cash

After completing the original Commission Blue print Course, which I have to say was really cheap for what you could achieve from it, “I think it was about $90.00 “, anyway using their research methods and strategies I picked a hole In the weight loss Niche, I know its real competitive but there are Sub Niche marketing Channels with in Niche Market and that’s what I focused on and it worked, 10+ Sales a Day @ 38 USD lets work it out 70+ Sale a week that’s 280+ Sale Per month = 10,000.00 USD Per Month and it was great it lasted for 2 months, that’s right this really does work. I followed the course which was easy well, there is always a technical side to deal with the support was there so it did not really matter…

See below Shock Horror

The Game Has Changed – AGAIN!…

Then Along Came Google with a New algorithm and my income stopped… Things changed hard and fast, Google took a stance against affiliate marketers and started to unroll some new filters to all Google Adwords accounts, I can tell you there would have been tears!. These filters are in place now and affiliate marketing just got harder well Until that is Commission Blue Print 2.0 came along and taught me the New Rules I bought the course, I like these Guys they are for real and on to it hey, sure there are systems to follow but do as they say and you will get there. The New Tools are insane they scrape the web and Google for data and bring it all into one place Sometimes I laugh as its Just time in front of a computer and for me that’s Cool as its in My own home, the other Day I was putting up the tent in the back Yard and made over 100 USD during that time, my advertising costs where 10 USD 90 USD a Day is 32,000.00 A year…

It’s So Important That You Are Here...

I actually now have no real time earthly Job, Who wants to join that club, if you are smart then you Wont want a job either Hey some days I make nothing But Most days I do. Check out the results below

Ok the benefits of becoming a successful affiliate marketer are unreal. You can do what you like, when you like (as long as it’s legal of course … and the most liberating thing about it is that you can run your business from anywhere in the world…

The Commission Blueprint 2.0 course really has me excited & Motivated again!. I have to say after having the Google carpet pulled from under me I was a little hesitant on affiliate marketing But, as the Commission Blue Print Team say, less competition is always good actually with latest clean out of affiliates Id say there has never been a better time to enter the Game.

This may not seem a brag-gable amount but, its bloody working I have Sold $642.53 USD worth of products in Days see below my New click bank account income its a beautiful thing and I now Know how to work on it now to make it increase, As Tim Would Say Follow the system and Rinse and Repeat .

I will post my New Sales Over the Next few Days or when there are Changes

The .PSD file is the greatest tool and resource to any web designer. Sure, you could create a design from scratch, coding by hand with no help from The trusted and handy photoshop… and that’s even how I started… but I bet once you get the chance to learn the tips and tricks that I will point out

In this article, you will wonder how NOT using .PSD’s for your design is even possible.

<?php adsensem_ad('post-ad'); ?>

Here is the sample design we are going to make:

You can download the Website Layout psd: Download psd Weblayout

First things first. Open your version of photoshop (I’m using CS3 here but CS2 is perfectly fine). Now to begin, lets first do something of personal Preference. This isn’t necessary but it may help you with the layout and arrangement of photoshops tools and menus… by changing your “Workspace.”

Photoshop to mock a website

You can download the Website Layout psd: Download psd Weblayout

To do this, go to : Window -> Workspace and select “Web Design.” Now you see the Adobe Teams idea of a Photoshop workspace for Web Designers. It highlights Important menu items and arranges the tools that most web designers will use.

Now lets begin to create a layout, in which later you will code into CSS and XHTML.

In CS3 (and CS2 I believe) you can select resolution presets for the web. So hit CTRL + N to open a new document. Under “preset” select “Web.”

Now select “1024 x 768.” I choose that over 800 x 600 because the majority of visitors will be seeing your webpage in that resolution- you can

Code it to shrink to an 800 width later on.

Now with your document open in 1024 x 768, we are going to begin the creative process. We will start from the top down. So begin with the header.

Start a new layer (ctrl + shift + N). Select your marquee tool (M) and draw a region from the top left to the top right with the height of about 85px… or whatever You think looks nice.

Now fill in that layer with any color you prefer. To make this look more modern and trendy you can fill it in with a gradient. Try one of the “Web 2.0 Gradients”

On this website. To do this, right clik the layer and select ‘Blending Options’ then on the left side menu select ‘Gradient.’ You can choose which gradient You feel works for a header. Sample them all.

Once the header block is complete, create a new layer again (ctrl + shift + N) and, just under the header block, use your marquee tool (M) to create a new block For your navigation. Try a height around 30 – 35px. Then, repeat the steps above- filling in the color and selecting a gradient.

Now this is a good time to mention organization of .PSD files. In photoshop you have the option of creating folders for sets of layers or elements. To do this, find the small folder icon under the layers palette at the bottom right of of the photoshop window. Name these folders (and color code them if desired) with

a description of the type of elements they will contain, such as “header” or “navigation.” Then drag those layers into the corresponding folders.

This will keep you from having to scroll through the entire layer pallete to find that one layer that needs adjustments. It is also good for moving entire blocks Of layers and for hiding them temporarily.

Moving on with the design we are now going to draw a simple css box with an image. In the .PSD or screenshot above you will see this used as an “intro box.” Most websites or blogs use these to introduce the readers to their website or to update readers with important news and info.

So create a new layer (and folder if you are an organization freak like I am) and draw using your marquee tool the selected width/height and position Of the intro box. Now fill it in with your desired color. Once complete, right click the layer and go to ‘Blending Options.’ Find and click the ‘Stroke’ Option. Turn down the size of the stroke to 1px and change the color to something in the same color range as the background of this box- darker works Better.

For the image its just a matter of copy + paste into the right position.

Do the same for the sidebar. This is called “blocking out a design.” This will help you when coding the design. Also fill in a headline and mock up post under that.

This is just a sample and of course you can adjust and optimize this more and more… the real reason for this article is to go over those basics above and more importantly, Show you how to take a design and turn it into a working webpage with CSS and XHTML… WITHOUT “slicing.” I’m not a fan of slicing- and it’s pretty obvious why… simply Using your marquee tool with the layers makes much more sense.

Now go onto your webserver and set up a directory to test this out. I use the backend of wordpress to code almost everything since it is so versatile but You can use notepad/textpad or any text editor you feel comfortable with (if you’re really hardcore use ‘vi’).

Now how do we code this? Simple really. Like I said, all you need is your marquee tool and every element in its own layer in photoshop. So now with your

Text editor open lets make the header you mocked up above.

Select the height of your header to the exact pixel with your marquee tool. Select edit and “Copy Merged.” Now hit ctrl + n for a new image. Paste the background

Of the header that should be in your clipboard right now. Most likely your pasted image is a bit too wide. Lets select the entire image (ctrl + click the layer) and zoom In a couple times. Now using your arrow keys, hit left as many times until you cant see the blinking outline of the marquee tool- then hit your right arrow once.

Now you should just barely see it. Crop it. What you just did is select only 1px width of the hearder background image. You wont need any more then this- css Will do the rest.

Now save and/or upload this image to your webserver (you can do this locally first). Go back to your text editor.

The blank text document in your editor will be the .css sheet so lets save it as “style.css”. Open it back up and lets start the coding. Oh and by the way- keep That header background image open in photoshop.

Now first your going to want to do the basics of your css file like body { background:#FFF; } or anything else you may want to do- for this example it’s not necessary So lets skip it.

Create a css element called “#header” like so:

#header {

}

Now maximize photoshop again, and with that head background image open, select “Image” and then “Image Size” – take note of the height.

Use that height in the #header css element like so:

#header {

Width:100%; height:115px;

}

Also set the width to 100%. Now lets put in that background image and repeat it across the width of the page:

#header {

Width:100%; height:115px;

Background:url(img/header_bg.gif) repeat-x;

}

Save that and open another text document for our .html page. Save it as index.html when you are finished. In the index.html file set up your basic html tags:

<html>

<head><title>My Design</title></head>

<body>

Now add this division tag under that:

<div id=”header”>

</div>

Save and open index.html in your web browser to view the changes.

Notice you have the header…. Why that was easy wasn’t it?

Do the same for the nav… put the division (i.e.: <div id=”nav”></div>) right under the header nav. Repeat these steps until each box is on your webpage… And really you could close this article right now as you’ve learned how simple it is to make a web page using photoshop and css xhtml by just repeating these steps.

Next you’re going to want to learn about margins and padding, positions, floats and so on. Don’t worry- its not at all difficult. Practice this for awhile.

Try to create the .PSD you downloaded into a whole web-page… can you do it? Show us! Post it in the comments if you think you have the right skills… If not, don’t worry- repeat these steps with each element and you’ll get it sooner or later.

Next time we will go even further…

How to Wrap text around an Image on a website page Using CSS & HTML

I have Found this to be very useful when using images and content text together and have Included a small summary on the CSS FLOAT TAG so you can understand whats going on below is the free download.

Free website Template Complete Download

So You may think that HTML allows us to use the align attribute to get around this text and image issue and you would be correct to a degree, How ever this attribute is now deprecated, cast to the heap of redundant code but please don’t worry just now there is a way if you use the following Transitional Doctype you can get away with it. Below I have included all code HTML CSS

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

If you use the strict doctype version you will have to learn CSS AND HTML together,

However there is a css option. The css solution is very easy and it comes in the form of THE css FLOAT PROPERTY Style code below

CSS STYLE :float: left

Summary

By using the CSS float property you are effectively removing the floated element from the flow of the the document, So you are now floating the element with in the block level element that contains it, you can choose left, right,and center, Other
block elements will ignore the floated element as if it where not there, but other in-line elements such as content eg text
will render as if it was there, so this works great for this situation one thing we will need to be aware of is if you give
the floated element a border for instance you will see that the text element is sitting tight along side the border of the floated element this can be cured very simply with a margin-left attribute demonstrated below with code example

Example HTML With CSS Float tag float property

For the sake of this example I have included the CSS with the html normally I lke to call the CSS style sheets thru the
head with <link rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css” href=”example.css” /> this reduces the code that google need to index the page loads faster as the file size is reduced two more very important reasons to do it

CSS STYLE :float: left

Lets Wrap it up

OK so that’s A basic Idea of how to wrap text around and image so lets apply this to a web site situation
where the above is the content filler for a typical web page I have included some head optimization such as meta tags for
description and Key words etc as you will notice I have links to external scripts this is great way to use scripts and style sheets
it save the amount of code sitting in the head giving faster page load times and gives google a great look at you Content and
keywords sooner

Web design CSS template site

This Is a great template I have included the image wrapping code as well, you will see a small bit
of Java script this is to render the current time on the users machine in a display bar situated at the top of the page
beneath the header this is great for giving your site the feel that the content is current I have also added a Javascript
image slide show <a href=”http://sunflowerlodge.co.nz”>Example</a> this renders much better in IE as it crossfades into each
new image where as Mozilla renders it abruptly but still looks good as well you can be the Judge </p>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN""http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Well I’m back.., Its Been a hell of a rough ride down here in New Zealand lately, Storms, Floods, Tornadoes, boy that Winter season does come around Fast! some say global warming, I say WINTER!! , But all that Weather drove me indoors to a labor of love this Web and Graphic design blog, so I sat here and wondered whats a good article to write which led me to a wee problem, I need a poll so until I sort that out Ill choose for you as long as there are free give aways at the end, looks like its CSS again!

lets start with one of the most important parts of your site, the contact form or Registration form. Generally people don’t put a lot of web design effort in this area, Ive always had trouble with forms and trying to make them work and look a little different or even tie them into my web site theme design, things are getting easier now with all these cool people who give away their knowledge and code to help us all break away from those all to easy tables. You have to start thinking what do the blind hear when they go to a table Tag ridden site using their screen reader, well its going to get mighty confused, lets think about it for a second, is your form really that user friendly, probably not! “God…, the net must be a boring place with all those tables Tags to read and yes people with disabilities also want the freedom of the net power to the People.

Help the internet community and start designing for the future, CSS is the way to great end results for all parties

Below is a nice form that I designed with curved corners the box around the inner Box is showing off (also a great hack called the Box model Hack browser compatible )this can be set to show or not, every part of this form is versatile.

A great way to Change your CSS ON THE FLY with your Mozilla Browser is to use the Web Developer plug in for Mozilla firefox Download Mozilla Plugin and your tool bar will now show a new tool bar at the top above the google tool bar, “What no google tool bar.., for Mozilla Download google toolbar then click on the >> CSS OPTION >> Ctrl+ Shift+E I have included the same form also with no style sheet well a very basic one still fluid though

A text editor will now be available at the bottom of the browser pull it up with you mouse and start changing the style sheet if you break the style just refresh the page and all is back to normal when you get it how you like save the style code and paste it into your site CSS template nothing better then seeing the changes occur right there be careful though IE Browser being what it is make sure you check the changes in that browser A lot of People use it but that will change

>>> Below is a Basic CSS HTML fluid 2 Column form very little styling but still tidy

>>> Below is a the same basic form from above the XHTML has few simple lines of code but the style sheet is a little more complex I have included a zipped folder with both sets of Style sheets and XHTML pages Muck around and see where you can take it

How I Started CSSI remember the day the CSS seed was planted by My Good friend Al Hall from Earthfirst, of whom I regard Highly in the web world, said…. “Bill, CSS is the way!” and I thought at the time what the hell does CSS mean, 5 years later who doesn’t Know about CSS, the benefits have started to Stack up in its favor in many ways .CSS has gone on to be of real interest to me and I have now moved on to a point where I have several templates that can be used all the time. I will Continue to add a resource of free Code at the end of this article.So the Journey began, and I soon realized that XHTML was what I need to learn to keep the code as clean as possible and web standards applicable, only then I was able to to get my Teeth into the true CSS learning process and start future proofing my sitesHTML OR XHTML ?

The problem With HTML is that presentational elements will be removed in future specifications and so will not be able to be used under the STRICT DOCTYPE such as HTML 4.01 strict or the XHTML 1.0 strict. Don’t be alarmed though your page will still be valid, if you use a transitional DOCTYPE, although it is a good idea to start making the change away from these deprecated presentation elements. Another major drawback is all the tags involved just to get the font type and color right throughout the page and then add in the table tags UUUGGHH messy and boring, and what happens when you want to change the font style you have to go thru some mammoth effort, say good by to any plans you had for the next 2 days. So its XHTML all the way and it is now time to move on.

For the non believers this example below is a full XHTML / CSS WEB PAGE as is this site your now using

This New Plymouth accommodation site Below is controlled thru CSS

Editing In Photoshop (if needed)

First download and unzip the archive. Then pick out your favorite color and open it in photoshop. You will now “save as…” the file into a .gif to be titled “dateicon.gif”…. why are we doing this? Because your visitors using the unholy Internet Explorer 5 or 6 cannot view semi-transparent .png’s.

When you save the gif a dialog will appear. Select the dropdown box next to “Palette” and select “Local (Selective)”. Make sure the check box next to “Transparency” is ticked (checked). Now select the “Matte” drop box and select “White.” and click OK. Now you have a IE friendly transparent .gif. Upload it into your wp-themes/YOURTHEMEHERE/images directory.

Adding the CSS/XHTML To WordPress

Log into your WordPress Admin Panel and go to “Presentation.” Now click on “Theme Editor” and select “style.css” on the right side (this is usually brought up automatically).

Add this code:

.the_date {
display:block;
text-align: center;
float:left;
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
background: url(/images/dateicons/dateicon.) no-repeat;
width:60px;
}

.date_m {
display:block;
font-size: .9em;
margin:0;
padding:0;
font-weight: bold;
text-align:center;
}

.date_d {
display:block;
font-size:1.4em;
margin:0;
padding:0.7em 0 1.3em 0;
text-align: center;
}

(thanks david!).

Also note your images directory might be named something other then “images” and your path will differ so keep that in mind.

After you’ve added the code above, click on “Main Index Template” in your theme editor and find a line containing the following partial code:

<a href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>

You are going to add this above or before that line:

<div class=”the_date”>
<div class=”date_m”><?php the_time(‘F’) ?></div>
<div class=”date_d”><?php the_time(‘jS’) ?></div>
</div>

Now view your page and configure any changes you see fit.

And thats as far as i can take you! Enjoy. Some resources below if you are stuck…

Time management is more then just a term used by those in high offices with high paying (stressful) jobs, it is an essential tool for anyone in charge of their own income. This is especially true for Web Designers as well as for Web Developers and Graphic Design Artists. We are going to focus mainly on those in the Web Design field but this can be applied to any other related profession whether you do this freelance or work for a corporation content management is all the same.

As web designers, we are usually met with strict deadlines while juggling two, three, four (or more!) other projects. It can be tough to keep yourself balanced enough to accomplish everything within the time allocated. This is where time management steps in.

If you’ve ever been lectured on time management then you’ve probably heard about the “80:20 rule.” I can’t think of a better application then when applied to web design. The 80:20 rule is simply as follows: 80 percent of unfocused effort only results in 20 percent results, while 20 percent of effort can result 80 percent of results. Simple, yes, but what does that mean? Well take for example you have some free time between projects (when does that happen?). You could be doing something of other interest but apply that free time to researching current design trends, content and just browsing design site galleries for ideas. In effect you are applying effort to your business which can be counted as “focused effort.” This will also be apparent when you start that new project with fresh ideas instead of just following up with the same ideas you had in your last project. This results in growth while a simple task like that can produce more result. Try to find any way to use focused effort during your daily routine. You could be our driving, socializing, or shopping. While doing this, you could be taking mental notes of product layouts and/or color schemes which then could be applied to your designs later on when you get home (or to work). Do your best to become “obsessed” with your work and you can improve and cut the amount of time it usually takes you to finish all the content with in project.

Time management is simply self-management. You have to be able to manage your own time, both personal and ‘professional’. There are many ways of doing this. It can be as easy as creating your own schedule on your workspace, be it on your wall or as software on your computer. Either way, this is a basic essential tool to have as a web designer. With this, you could also track time spent on each project (which helps if being payed hourly) as well as for reference later on. You can track how you spend your time, find ways to improve, and put those in to effect. Being able to close the gaps between unfocused effort and focused effort can result in more contracts and projects which results in more money! Do you best to stick to the schedule and only apply modifications if really necessary.

Alright, we’ll theres some good ideas but what are some real ways I can apply these ideas? Good question johnny, the answer is in organization. Organization is by far the most powerful tool to any web designer. There are many ways to become a better organized web designer. Let’s review some of these…

Track Your Ideas / Create Task List

If your like me, ideas come to you at random times and without any warning whatsoever. Also, these ideas that hit you in the middle of the night are usually the best ideas you’ll ever have. Keep track of them! As a web designer, you will spend most of your day sitting in front of a monitor so it is not hard to open up notepad and jot a few things down… but there is a better solution.

Instead of trying to keep all your .txt documents organized (more work!) just download FusionDesk. I cannot go a day without this handy program. I recommend the free version as it contains almost everything you need minus the time tracker (read on for a replacement for this feature). This program is lightweight and wont take up many resources that you’ll need for things like Photoshop, Dream weaver. If you have an idea you can simply use ‘hotkeys’ (key shortcuts) to create a new task no matter what program has focus. As a side note, by default the hotkey for creating a new task is ctrl + shift + n which is the same for creating a new layer in Photoshop , so to avoid the aggravation change this once it’s set up.

Once you’ve created a new task you can quickly add notes (see image below), keep a task list, set deadlines, add attachments, track progress etc. This is a must for any GTD enthusiast, which we will discuss later.

FusionDesk

Organize Your Files!

Organization of your Content and files is probably the most important step you can take when it comes to shaving off some time when it comes time to bare down and get to work on a project. There are countless ways you could do this. You could create an extra partition on your hard drive for just your work files (if personal computer) which has many advantages. It not only distinguishes your
work from your personal life, it also can create an easy way to back-up everything in the case of a hard drive failure. For more information on partitioning see this article.

Set up a skeleton template. I work a lot with templates such as wordpress templates so one day i sat down, created a new folder in my “work” directory/drive and made each file i would usually use and applied all the redundant code. This included headers, doctype, simple css and necessary PHP code. Needless to say that this saved me a lot of time. This can be applied to almost any type of template you use (and if you don’t use them… START!).

Organize Your Workspace

It’s not just about an organized virtual workspace, it is just as (if not more) important to have your physical workspace just as tidy.

It is perfectly fine to take a day off to simply organize your workspace. It will pay off in the end! Many people will let their work area become so cluttered they constantly joke about having “their own system”… they’re lying to themselves. A clean and organized workspace will give you a much better advantage then you would assume. It is not just being able to find things quickly… it’s proven that a cleaner environment will create a better mood, a more productive day, and an overall better sense of well being. Try to get rid of anything you don’t really need. Minimalism is key here. Only keep what you really need, if you don’t want to throw it away then move it to another room and away from your personal workspace.

But don’t spend more than a day on this, it is more important to get your projects done!

Stop Procrastinating

I used to be infamous for procrastination until i realized that i could be making a lot more money if i just got my act together. Now I’ve leaned to “manage” my procrastination though things like inspiration. I will put something off as long as i can but if i stumble across a very well laid out rich interface i suddenly find myself opening up notepad(2) and photoshop and actually start working! It sounds simple but it actually works. If your saying to yourself “i don’t really feel like coding or designing but i know i should” then take a look at some css galleries and see how quickly you become motivated.

TimeBoxing

Time boxing is a simple idea. Give yourself a certain amount of time to finish each task and stick to it the best you can. This can also be used in your personal schedule.

Keep Track Of Your Time Online

There is a great free online web app called “toggl” which is an online timetracker. This allows you to always keep track of time you spend on certain tasks no matter where you are as long as you have an internet connection and a browser! This has been a much needed service for any web designer. You can visit there site here

Set Goals

Always set goals for yourself, whether it be short time goals or long time goals. Make sure you stick to them! Defining goals can give you something specific to aim for which will not only help you be a stronger web designer but a faster web designer! The term “time is money” is more true with Web Design then it is with almost anything else! So set your goals… create a separate folder or file (if you decide not to use fusiondesk) and map them out and keep track of your progress.

Start With Biggest Task

Always start everyday with your biggest task for that day. If you don’t you may find yourself with many small projects done without the energy or motivation to finish the one true thing that matters. If you finish your biggest task first, you will be motivated to finish everything up seeing as how everything else pales in comparison to what you’ve just accomplished!

Getting Things Done

I couldn’t complete this article without writing about the phenomena that is Getting Things Done (GTD) which is an amazing book that has taken the internet by storm for its “geek friendly” appeal. Author David Allen outlines a proven structure on just how to manage your time, projects, and ideas in a stress-free way. I won’t go into deep detail here because many of you have read it (if you haven’t Getting Things Donebuy it… now, its cheap). This book is a must-read for anyone in charge of their own income such as web designers.

There are so many ways to put this system into place as a web designer. I would of written some of my own ideas but there are countless articles about this already so i will just lead you away from my wonderful site…
